Halo Legends

February 3, 2010

Went to check out a Halo Legends première. I really, really, really wanted to like it. I love Animé and I like Halo, so I assumed it was going to be a win-win situation. Oh how wrong I was.

I’ll be writing a proper article about it for consolemonster.com, but I was honestly left feeling disappointed. For something as big as Halo, I assumed the budget would have been pretty generous but the animation quality wasn’t on par.

I’m a fan of Animé, I am pretty educated on various qualities the medium pumps out. Halo Legends just didn’t live up to the quality of animation studios were releasing years and years ago. I was especially upset to see studios well known for their quality creating these kind of shorts.

The scripting and voice acting was also something left to be desired. The only episode everyone seems to really enjoy was the comical “1337” Spartan episode that parodied Dragon Ball as much as possible.

The night was a bit of a face palm. Soon after the movie ended, I rushed out to meet up with some friends and to meet people from EA. Got talking to Amy from EA about The Sims. Was a funny one 🙂
